Empowering Patients with Clear, Accessible Education Materials
ASSFN has developed a new set of clear, patient-friendly materials to explain functional neurosurgery conditions – from chronic pain to Trigeminal Neuralgia; and procedures from deep brain stimulation to Temporal Lobectomy for Epilepsy.
Designed with Patients in Mind
These resources are designed to be concise, easy-to-read and encompass a wide range of functional neurosurgery procedures and conditions. Each document is formatted to align with the ASSFN identity, including logos, fonts, and color schemes to support consistency across ASSFN efforts.
To maximize their accessibility to patients, these materials are available in both text and downloadable PDF formats on the ASSFN website. You will need your member login and password to access the free materials.
Patient Education to Improve Understanding & Informed Decisions
The materials will also be periodically updated to reflect the most current evidence and best practices in the field and includes cross-referencing ASSFN guidelines publications. Many practices have varying patient needs; therefore, these documents are intended as a starting point.
Thanks to the ASSFN Patient Education Committee, these materials will enhance patient understanding and support informed decisions in clinical practice.
