Program’s goals and objectives
To provide advanced training in the full spectrum of functional and epilepsy neurosurgery, including movement disorders, adult and pediatric epilepsy, psychiatric neurosurgery, and pain. To gain expertise in the application of neuromodulation techniques and devices including DBS and RNS, laser ablation, focused ultrasound, robotic and non-robotic stereotactic neurosurgery, intra-operative image-guided neurosurgery, and traditional open procedures relevant to the field. Additional experience in gamma knife radiosurgery, spinal functional neurosurgery (pain, Chiari, tethered cord, etc.) is also available. To prepare trainees for a career that contributes to the advancement of the field through academic work in the form of clinical, translational and/or basic research.
