Program Faculty: Drs. Fady Girgis and Zelma Kiss (2 neurosurgeons involved, however there are many neurologists, pain physicians, radiation oncologists and other faculty involved)

Program’s goals and objectives

  • To become expert in the neurosurgical management of movement disorders, pain including trigeminal neuralgia, psychiatric conditions and application of neuromodulation therapies.
  • To become expert in the techniques of stereotaxy including frame-based, frameless and image-guided systems.
  • To become expert in the application and use of stereotactic radiosurgery and focused ultrasound lesioning.
  • To learn the principles of electrophysiology as applied to intra-operative microelectrode recording and stimulation techniques.
  • To gain experience in research methods and approaches taken in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery, including translational and clinical research.
