2026 ASSFN Webinars & Podcasts Lineup

ASSFN is launching a new educational series focused on the latest developments in BCI, along with a multi-part series on advancing expertise in epilepsy surgery. This lineup of webinars and companion podcasts will take a deep, practical dive into surgical decision-making, operative planning, and the evolving treatment landscape shaping the field today.

Join us for our upcoming webinar: Brain-Computer Interfaces: The Future Is Now, which will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 7 PM Central Time. This session highlights the brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) foundational role in advancing, translating, and responsibly scaling these technologies. It reinforces the broader functional neurosurgery umbrella under which BCI innovation has always lived—and where collaboration across disciplines continues to thrive.

We are also launching a multi-part Epilepsy Surgery-focused series starting with our upcoming webinar, Epilepsy Surgery: Surgical Decision Making held Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 7 PM Central Time. The first session will highlight seizure classification, EEG and intracranial EEG interpretation, seizure semiology, surgical candidacy in the dominant hemisphere, and the role of neuropsychological testing and WADA. A companion podcast will supplement the session with practical insights on how to determine when surgery is the right option.

This will be followed by a multipart series that will include webinars and podcasts dedicated to Intracranial EEG and Surgical Planning (May 2026), which will explore SEEG networks, semiology-based planning, SEEG techniques, and the role of grids—including minimally invasive options. Further epilepsy series educational content will focus on Surgical Treatment Options – Neuromodulation (July 2026), Resective and Ablative Treatments (September 2026), and finally, a session dedicated to The Future of Epilepsy Surgery (November 2026), which will examine cutting-edge therapies including cell and gene therapy and incision less approaches.
